Hexagram 55: Abundance

The judgment

This is a time of fullness: energy, light and opportunity at their peak. Don't spoil it by worrying that it will pass. Be like the sun at noon, shining on everything without holding back. Every peak gives way in time, so make good use of this one.

Fire below and Thunder above: lightning and thunder arrive together, clarity joined with force. It is a moment to settle open questions and weigh things fairly and decisively.

The six lines

• Line 1 (bottom): You meet someone whose strengths complement your own. Work together for a full cycle; that is no mistake, and it will be noticed.
• Line 2: A curtain so heavy you can see stars at midday: intrigue or confusion clouds the situation. Pushing only breeds distrust, so hold to your sincerity and let it open the way.
• Line 3: Shadows thicken until even faint stars show at noon, and your hands are tied. This is not your fault; wait for the light to return.
• Line 4: The curtain is still heavy, but you meet an ally of a like mind. Together you find your way back into the light.
• Line 5: You welcome capable people and listen to their advice. Their help brings blessing and recognition.
• Line 6 (top): A grand house is walled off from everyone, and looking out you see no one, because you shut them all out. Fullness turned into pride ends in loneliness.
